Enhance Your ASL Skills with Powerhouse Classifier and Surrogate Skill Sets

0.2 CEUs, PS

Looking to master American Sign Language and sign more like a native? Join this workshop to empower your ASL skills. Since both ASL and video media utilize full animation and rich visual detail, we will use visual media as a primary tool for identifying and applying classifiers and surrogate spaces. You will learn how to blend these elements to create compelling ASL narratives. In small groups, you’ll practice translating visual media into ASL stories using the tools provided. The techniques you acquire here will help your skills flourish and bring you closer to native-level fluency over time.

I love it when i get to learn new terms! I attended my ITP in the early 2000s so do not often hear the newest and latest terms related to interpreting. I really enjoyed this workshop. ASL Surrogate and Depicting Verbs = new terms for me.

There's so much I need to do and improve on when it comes to classifiers / depicting verbs. Thank you both for sharing this information. You're never too old to learn.
