This workshop uncovers both the pitfalls and the breakdown of common communication in the interpreter relationship and the building blocks to improved communication between all the stakeholders (Deaf consumer, interpreter, hearing consumer, corresponding agency). We will cover and demonstrate specific strategies to include: appropriate boundaries between all stakeholders, emotional management in challenging situations, communication strategies for effective teaming, relating effective feedback.

Jason Winters

Jason Winters is a nationally certified interpreter from RID. Developing an affinity for Deaf culture and interpreting from 2004, he has worked and volunteered in various settings. He also loves to support the Deaf/Blind community and has a particular passion for theatrical interpreting. His passion for health and wellness led him to later become a transformational wellness coach and is determined to guide people to the realization that self-care is a demonstration of advanced personal leadership - not a luxury.  Jason uses EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and powerful coaching to teach people how to turn their stress and anxious moments into a more peaceful and calm experience.
