Read Alouds: How to Be Effective and Visual

0.3 CEUs, PS

“Read alouds” can be difficult to interpret if one does not know what or how to interpret stories or information accurately. Plots, settings, characters, and conflicts are a few components of stories that interpreters have to learn how to piece together in order to create clear visual representation for the Deaf and hard of hearing students. If one does not know how to interpret all of these components of stories and texts, then Deaf and hard of hearing students will not understand the messages behind them. In this workshop, educational interpreters will learn some tricks and tips to make stories and texts come to life in order to successfully create visual pictures for their students. In addition, this workshop will provide educational interpreters with strategies and techniques to interpret stories and texts effectively.
